(416) 306-0046

Wow, haven't posted in a while.

This one I answered...said hello several times, but no-one answered, and then they hung up.

On the internet, there are a few references to the number, pointing to a Bell exchange. Will keep trying to track this down.

Just got a call from this same tel. no. 416-306-0046.

Doesn't leave a message.

Must be a telemarketer?

I want to remain Anonymous but
the info above is accurate.

I just got a call today from this number, but I didn't answer it. No message was left. When I called back - it said "This number is not in use".

I received a call from that number today. I didn't answer and there was a hang-up on my voicemail so I jotted the number down and tried a 411 reverse search on it. When I didn't get any info I Googled it thinking maybe it was a business and found numerous posts about the same number.

I got a call from that number just this weekend. There was a person claiming to be from petro to verify my petro credit card information.

I was busy at the time and said I'd get back to them, but this number is not registered to petro.

Well, I just had a different experience with this number. I got the call, didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number, there was a message, and it was a colleague stranded in New York because of the snow here in Montreal. I can't reach her back as yet, but maybe this was the phone card she's using?

Sorry to hear about your colleague (hope they made it back ok), but no-one is suposed to be spoofing their numbers. I remember reading about what is allowed for spoofing last year (before I set up this blog), and it mentioned something about the only people allowed were law-enforcement or if you have a PBX phone system and were pointing all your numbers (each line needs it's own number) to one single number. But this is done through Bell, and costs extra (well, for business use anyway).

The following is a message I wrote on another site, but I hope it would also be of interest to the readers here:

Last night, first I got a call from an "Unavailable" number, so I ignored it. A minute later, I got a call from 416-306-0046. Thinking that it was from someone calling me urgently, I answered, but after saying "hello" a couple of times, the caller hanged up (or the call was lost). When I did a reverse phone look-up on the Web, I found that the number is a land line, provided by Bell, but it is not in service(?).

Today, I tried calling that number this morning, it rang twice, and then I got a male voice-recording saying that this number is not in service, to check the number I'm calling and to try again. I'm almost sure that this message is not from Bell because when a Bell line is not in service, it's usually a female voice recording that tells you what's wrong. I'm guessing whoever is using this number is trying to cover-up their tracks by making people think it's an out-of-service number.

Does anyone know if this is just a telemarketing call or some sort of scam? And just out of curiosity, did you get the call from your land line or cell phone?

Thanks.
